Boom in the Russian ccTLDs: By results of the 11 months of 2023, for the first time since 2017 the number of registrations in .RU has surpassed 5.28m though still below the-then record-breaking 5m. In 2023 alone, . RU grew at 7%, while the nation’s IDN ccTLD added12% , thereby hitting a new historic high, albeit still below both its onset figure and the astounding 900K+ reported over the first 3 days after ithe launch of its general availability stage back in 2010. Presently, the Cyrillic ccTLD boasts as many as 762, 000 registrations, as per statdom.ru.

Voting in the elections for the position of one (1) ccNSO Council member for the Asia/Australia/Pacific region closed on Thursday, 30 November 2023 (23:59 UTC). This is to inform you of the election results and to thank all those who voted.
Election Results
In accordance with the rules, two candidates from the Asia/Australia/Pacific region were nominated, seconded and have accepted their nomination. An election was therefore held among the ccNSO members from the Asia/Australia/Pacific region.
At the conclusion of the election, 31 Emissaries (57%) cast their votes: Sami Mohamed Ali received 8 votes, and Jiankang Yao received 22 votes. The quorum was met, and the winner of the election is Jiankang Yao.
