On 16 January 2020, the APTLD Board held a regular teleconference meeting and considered a range of matters. A summary of the Meeting is published in this Communiqué.
Progress in Preparations for APTLD77
The Board noted with much satisfaction that the number of registrations for the Meeting is well in excess of 100 and all moderator roles and nearly all the speaking slots have already been filled in well ahead of schedule.
The Board also noted with much appreciation sponsorship contributions by CentralNic, Neustar and VentraIP Group.
GM’s Proposal on an Emergency Meeting Relocation Action Plan
The Board discussed GM’s proposal and agreed that the community’s concerns about safety and security should be a top priority while organizing and holding Members Meetings. The Board also noticed that the general situation in and around the APTLD77 location does not suggest any need for an urgent relocation.
The Board also agreed that the Action Plan should be updated and resolved to create a Board Working Group to update the document and subsequently decide on its formal status.
Secretariat’s Update on the APTLD Board Election Process
The Board received the Secretariat’s update on the matter and noted with much satisfaction a strong competition for seats on the Board, and wished every success to the nominees.
Draft 2019 Chair’s Report
The Board discussed the draft Chair’s Report to the APTLD community and suggested it should undergo the period of Board’s review and comments until 31 January 2020 to be shared with the Membership shortly afterwards.

The unaudited draft 2019 Statement of Accounts
The Board received a GM’s update on the execution of the 2019 budget and noted with much satisfaction its healthy state, early disbursements for the 2020 Members Meetings notwithstanding. The Board expressed gratitude to Mr. Qiang Li, Treasurer, for his very efficient oversight of APTLD finances.
State and Execution of the 2020 APTLD Budget
The Board received a GM’s update on the matter and noted with much satisfaction Members’ commitment and strong fiscal discipline, which has resulted in a very efficient membership fee collection campaign. The Board expressed its appreciation to the APTLD community and noted that the 2020 budget execution is carried in line with the original projections and should benefit from early disbursements for 2020 Members Meetings made back in 2019.
The Board also suggested certain improvements to the format of the presentation of accounts.
The Board also considered a number of other administrative matters.
