I have participated in a five-day workshop on “Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy 2017” held in Seoul. The seminar was attended by 45 participants from the Asia Pacific region.
Before I didn’t know much about Internet Governance. This is not just about technology. It is about: How to organize and manage the internet, how to cooperation customers, governments and Business organization and how to develop the policy.
“The Mock Conference” was really experience. The topic was “new gTLDs: Getting to the Next Round.” Participants divided into 3 groups: GAC, GNSO and ALAC. Participants represented a certain role within their groups.
Many participants had non-technical background. Their profession were communication, law, politic and economy, etc. All the participants were really active. When I need information of the communication or the law, they helped me. We had not enough time, we spent our time to ask and talk about discuss things.
As the sessions and discussions were conducted in English, It is important that I speak and understand English well. I felt that my English is relatively small compared to other participants. The participant try to ask or shared your opinion is important.
Thank you to the APTLD, that selected me as Fellow for participate to APIGA 2017. I will continue to participate for Internet Governance, and share my story of APIGA 2017. I will help to new participant to join in discussions on IG.
