In anticipation of #APTLD84 we continue our journey across the Central Asia and move from the flatt steppes of Kazakhstan to the neighboring mountain valleys of Kyrgyzstan to explore .KG
KG represents the official domain extension or the internet country code top level domain (ccTLD) of Kyrgyzstan. This domain suffix does not have any restrictions and is also ideal both for personal and business use. It was delegated in 1995 and is operated by AsiaInfo Telecommunication Enterprise. A private company, Asiainfo operates as an Internet Service Provider in Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 1994. The company “AsiaInfo” is now a top data network operator, significantly expanding the list of products and services they can deliver to other people. Their aim is to become the most advantageous to their clients. Asiainfo wishes to assist in developing business in the country and conditions for the first operations of new IT into the daily life of the clients in Kyrgyzstan.
KG is popular in Kyrgyzstan as well as in its neighboring territories. It is also fast becoming a famous domain extension worldwide.
Aside from being used as Kyrgyzstan’s two-letter country code, KG is also used as an acronym for other things. KG is an abbreviation for kilogram (unit of measurement), key generation (computing), know god (religion), kindergarten (education), , khabal game (sports), so if you care of your weigh, or your PC, or your kids, there is some food for thought (we are kidding of course but not that much, actually)

In the lead-up to #APTLD84 today, we travel to the heart of the Central Asia to explore KazNIC, our Member from Kazakhstan.
The Kazakhstan Network Information Center (KazNIC) was registered as the non-commercial organization by the Ministry of Justice in September, 1999.
IANA organization appointed Kazakhstan Network Information Center as a Manager for supporting domain names of the top level. Manager independently sets rules and registration order of domain names of the second and the following levels in strict correspondence with existing standards and rules of delegation of domain name Internet (www.iana.org, www.icaan.org and some others).
Kazakhstan Network Information Center was created for achieving the following aims:
to be the centre of net information, management and control for using domain names Internet .KZ;
to manage and control the use of underdomains Internet in the part of domain .KZ in accordance with all necessary agreements and in cooperation with state and non-state organizations;
to set, publish and administrate the rules of use of domain names;
the support of registration of the domain name Internet;
to set and introduce authorization procedures of changing of registered domain names;
to represent means for searching registered domain names;
to provide the functioning of DNS (Domain Name Service);
to represent in Internet (DNS, WHOIS) necessary information about registered underdomains;
the delegation of rules of administration and management by domain names of the second level.
