#APTLD84, let’s browse the map of the southern hemisphere in search of Papua New Guinea, because today, we are pleased to introduce to you the .PG ccTLD registry.
Delegated in 1991, .PG has been managed by a small team (see the photo) at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology led by Russel Deka Harada, or Russel-san, as he is known in the APTLD community because he is a Japanese who has long fallen in love with PG and taken roots in the country (to the lef on the photo below, the other two being Mr. Bill Tomon- ICT Manager, and Ms. Reggie-Anne Banjua, ICT Support Officer).
Registrations in .PG are made beneath the second-level names .
com.pg, .
net.pg, .
ac.pg, .
gov.pg, .
mil.pg, and .
org.pg.
Registrants must have local presence or interests in Papua New Guinea. A .PG ASCII domain name could be one of the best choices for local and international companies wanting to represent their business in Papua New Guinea as Papua New Guinea is the 2nd most populated economy in Oceania and its official language is English.
The dispute resolution policy is similar to that of Network Solutions prior to the institution of the UDRP in 2000; that is to say, a trademark owner can object to a domain registration and this will result in the domain being placed on hold unless the registrant can also demonstrate trademark rights (and post bond to indemnify the registry), or else get a court ruling in their favor.

#APTLD84, let us take you to Singapore to meet our Member there.
Singapore…the country often affectionately called the ‘Little Red Dot’ due to its small physical size and the red dot that represents it on world maps.
As the Little Red Dot, Singapore has, over the years, shown to punch above its weight and make significant contributions on the global stage. Through resilience and determination, it has built a thriving economy and a trusted brand instilling confidence to investors who wish to invest in Singapore. Similarly, the .SG domain name is a digital representation of Singapore’s online presence. Just like the ‘Little Red Dot’ symbolises Singapore’s physical presence on maps, the .SG domain name serves as the virtual address for individuals, businesses, and organisations looking to showcase their online presence in Singapore and to the world.
There are different extensions within the .SG domain space that are available for registration. For example, individuals can register .SG for personal websites, while businesses often opt for domain extensions like .
COM.SG or simply .SG for commercial purposes. Eligible applicants can also register for domain names under the .
ORG.SG, .
NET.SG, or .
EDU.SG extensions.
The Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) plays a vital role in managing and administering the .SG domain name. It is the official registry and governing body responsible for overseeing the .SG domain space. It sets the policies, guidelines, and technical standards for registering and managing .SG domain names, enabling individuals and organizations to establish their online presence with confidence. Please visit
www.sgnic.sg if you are interested in learning more about registering a .SG domain name and SGNIC.
