Our Internet Insights research shows that children being exposed to harmful content is the number one online concern in Aotearoa, and SOSMP sought to help address this and myriad other concerns New Zealanders hold about the internet.

At the forum, Mrs. Nadya Al Jasmi, Business Operations Senior Officer in the Policies and Programs Department, presented the “Name Ideas” initiative. This pioneering initiative utilizes Generative AI to assist in selecting .ae domain names for websites. It enables new business owners to acquire a domain name tailored to their business by providing a simple description of their business activities.

On April 29th, the anniversary of the .uz domain zone is being celebrated
On this day in 1995, the top-level domain “.UZ” was first created and delegated. On this occasion, UZINFOCOM organized a gala event with the participation of representatives of government agencies, IT companies, Internet providers, as well as owners of domains in the .UZ zone.
New services and projects implemented by the ccTLD.uz administrators over the past year, including updating the registration system for domains in the .UZ/API ver.3.0 zone. and the results of the year for the blockchain-based NFT certificates project, were presented to the guests. Announcements of updates from partner registrars were also presented.
In addition, a memorandum was signed between UZINFOCOM and the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (Ўзбекистон Республика товар-хом ашё биржаси – UZEX), which will allow in-demand domains that do not have owners to be auctioned. Part of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to charity. This allows bidders to not only purchase the domain names they want, but also contribute to social causes.
