As part of our work to champion the multi-stakeholder model of internet governance, auDA was proud collaborate with Pacific ccTLD managers to host a forum supporting knowledge sharing and capacity building last week. We also hosted a forum to foster collaboration between Pacific Island internet organisations, the technical community and funding organisations to support development of the internet in the Pacific. These forums were co-located with the APNIC members meeting, the Pacific Internet Governance Forum and the AP* Retreat – auDA was pleased to participate in those meetings too in what was a big week in Wellington!– picture

At every APTLD Members Meeting we try to come up with something new, and #APTLD86 is no exception, marked with quite a number of solo gigs. For the start, in addition to our Training Day, Tony Kirsch of Brand Alliance will give a special talk on Special Talk – Domain Blocking : How it Works and Why It’s a Unique Opportunity for ccTLDs a quick tour into a brand new initiative that has already secured handsome revenue to quite a number of TLDs through smart compliance and leveraging the best industry practices ; as well Ching Chao of Whois API, LLC will get the relay to deliver a BoF session on a new round of gTLDs, followed by Jon Nevett of Public Interest Registry – to highlight best practices for ccTLDs in Mitigating Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM) – and Namrata Gilada, our data analyst- to discuss the importance of data in a ccTLD’s daily operation. Welcome to the CleanDNS team Paul Diaz, Vice President of Engagement
Paul Diaz is an accomplished senior executive with over three decades of experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, operations and financial management, and analysis. For the past 13 years Paul has been Vice President of Policy at Public Interest Registry where he was responsible for policy development, domain name and cybersecurity industry relations, and related governance functions. He has served as Registry Stakeholder Group chair, vice chair of the ICANN Nominating Committee, and on numerous cross-community working groups.
Prior to his time at PIR, Paul spent over 12 years at Network Solutions where he led ICANN-related policy development and regularly briefed U.S. congress, U.S. Executive branch agencies, and ICANN on key issues.
Paul brings a wealth of industry experience and executive expertise to the team, and CleanDNS is thrilled to welcome him on our mission of cleaning up the Internet for good.
