Trained and practised as a lawyer. Joined MIMOS Berhad in 1997 to research and develop policy in relation to Information and Communications Technology. Currently manages Strategic Operations for the National IT Council Malaysia and advises MYNIC on policy matters. Has been actively involved in developing national policies in relation to e-commerce, security and Internet governance. First became involved with the ICANN process as the Malaysian representative to the ICANN Government Advisory Council in 1999. Subsequently acted as advisor to the Malaysian government representative. Currently on the Board of APTLD as Chair. |

Currently Board member of APTLD. Yumi Ohashi had been liaison in the international affairs field in JPNIC since 1997. Since after she moved to JPRS in 2001, she has taken advantage of the experience in JPNIC and served in developing the management framework of the .jp top-level domain among JPRS, JPNIC, ICANN, and the Government of Japan, which resulted in execution of the Sponsorship Agreement between JPRS and ICANN. In addition to the international liaison, she has been actively involved in policy making of registration services of .JP domain names. |

Chris, was for 18 years a corporate lawyer in the U.K. and Australia, and has experience in all aspects of corporate law including public and private companies, international trading and negotiation, take over mergers and acquisitions compliance and capital raising. For over ten years he has held executive management positions and directorships in private and public companies in the U.K. and Australia. These companies have included those involved in mining, e-commerce and the Internet. He was appointed CEO of auDA in October 2000. auDA is the self regulatory body governing the .au domain space. On 1st July 2002 auDA introduced new domain name policy and competition in the supply of domain names in Australia. He is currently a Board member of the apTLD and a member of the ICANN ccNSO Assistance Group. |

Mr. Qian has over 30 years experience in the computing industry and has been responsible for many important Internet-related technical projects in China. He has made important contribution in bringing the Internet to China since1989 and finished the first Internet full function connection for China in 1994. In the same year, he completed the construction and operation of Top Level Domain of China. He was the first person who applied class B IP address for the first large Internet project NCFC in China. In 1986, he was responsible for designing and manufacturing the earliest PC-FAX system (Data/Fax/Voice hardware and software system) for China. In 1984, he developed the first X.25 network in China. Mr. Qian has been involved in Internet coordination activities for many years, especially in Asia-Pacific region. He used to be the chair of APTLD and has been served as one of the APNIC EC members since 2000. In Chinese Internet community, he is deputy director of CNNIC Steering Committee, chair of CDNC, and deputy director to the Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Previously he served as the head of the networking division at the Institute of Computing Technology, CAS, which was deemed as the cradle of computing technology of China. He was a visiting scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States and now is a distinguished professor and serving as a guest professor at People’s University of China. He is a doctorial supervisor and published over 60 papers and books. |

Mr. Richard St. Clair of Niue is a co-founder of and the current Chairman of the Pacific Islands Chapter of the Internet Society (PICISOC). Richard is also a co-founder of the Internet Users Society – Niue, the organization responsible for the .NU ccTLD. Richard represented the 150 Pacific Island members of PICISOC at the recent WSIS PrepCon meeting in Tokyo, and at the request of the meeting organizers he presented a paper on the state of IT in Pacific Island communities. He brought the Internet to Niue in 1997 and now serves as operations chief and technical manager for IUS-N’s free Internet services in Niue, and is working to help other Pacific Islands launch or improve their Internet services as part of his role in PICISOC. Richard has represented IUS-N at several ICANN, APTLD, INET and MINC meetings over the past several years. |
