As a part of the ASEAN- wide effort to promote the deployment of IDNs and Universal Acceptance, LANIC held an online workshop on UA-related matters.

Involving most ASEAN economies’ representatives, the workshop built on findings and recommendations developed in LANIC’s extensive report commissioned by the ASEAN Secretariat and co-authored by Mr. Grigori Saghyan, the project consultant of .AM.

The workshop also got together a number of APTLD members from the ASEAN region (.LA, .KH, .PH,. ID, .MY, .TH), representatives of Gransy and .AM, as well as ICANN’s experts.

The release of the Report and the workshop became milestone developments on the path towards the deployment of the Lao IDN and an ASEN-wide consolidated effort to promote multilingualism in the sub-region.

APTLD was proud to facilitate the drafting of the report and the conduct of the Workshop.
