Call for Expressions of Interest in Serving on The APTLD Board of Directors

Dear Ordinary Member,

APTLD is currently seeking interested individuals to serve on the Board of Directors for a two-year term commencing on 24 February 2022.

The Board currently consists of 8 directors serving staggered two – year terms. Based upon the result of the recent election campaign and the tenure of the incumbent directors, the Board anticipates requiring 1 new director in 2022- 2023.

With nearly 25 years of history and tradition, serving 73 members, APTLD is the largest ccTLD Regional Association in the world. We strive to align with all ccTLD registries across Asia Pacific and beyond through a connected Names community while encouraging both young and mature ccTLD registries to engage and collaborate on a number of exciting projects. Our mission is to shape their present and future by leading, creating, and promoting good practices.

The Board is responsible for, among other things, determining APTLD policy; protecting the long term growth and health of the Association; for developing, monitoring and evaluating the strategic goals; for overseeing the GM and staff’s operation; and for authorizing and taking responsibility for the funding of the organization.

If you have a strong passion for, and understanding of, APTLD’s operations and objectives, and are interested in developing your professional and executive-management competencies, we would like to hear from you. We are searching for strategic thinkers, and experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded: Governance, Strategic Planning, Policy Development, Executive Leadership, Financial Management, Fundraising, Marketing/Communication, and Change Management. We are committed to promoting the APTLD’s capacity and unique standing and welcoming to the diverse and inclusive Names community in Asia Pacific, and would encourage like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply.

The role of an APTLD Board Director is to always act in the best interests of the Association with integrity. Board members actively support and promote APTLD’s vision, mission and strategic plans. Also, they perform financial oversight and fiduciary responsibility for APTLD on behalf of its members, among other responsibilities.

APTLD Directors serve on the Board pro bono and may, under specific circumstances, seek reimbursement of their travel expenses, per the respective policies.

The position requires a reasonably good command of the English language and up to 7 hours of your time monthly on average.
