Call for Volunteers to the Secretariat Performance and Contract Review Working Group

The Background

APTLD (the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association) is a membership-based, non-for-profit organization that serves ccTLD (country-code Top Level Domain) registries in the Asia Pacific region.

APTLD operates as the forum of information exchange regarding technological and operational issues of domain name registries in Asia Pacific region and in this capacity holds biannual Meetings across the region.

Guided by the Association’s Accountability and Transparency Framework  and pursuant to the APTLD Board’s decision of 17 May 2023, APTLD is seeking volunteers to the Secretariat Performance and Contract Review Working Group, which already is the second edition of SPRWG after 2020.

The Objective

The objectives of the SPRWG will be

• Reviewing the Secretariat’s overall performance in 2020-2023;
• Reviewing the Secretariat Contract, and
• Where needed, suggesting recommendations for further improvements to both.

The Working Group’s findings and deliberations will be instrumental for the APTLD Board’s decision on awarding the Secretariat Contract to an interested party.

The Workload and Modus Operandi

It is envisaged that the work commitment for SPRWG will be no more than 2 (two) hourly teleconferences in the span of two weeks until mid-June 2023. Once the WG considers its mission accomplished, its Chair is expected to present the final report to the APTLD Board.

Who Can Join ARMWG?

Membership in ARMWG is open to both Ordinary and Associate APTLD Members, and the number of ARMWG Members, including representatives of the same APTLD Member is not limited. The background in law and legal affairs is a desirable but not necessary qualification for joining the ARMWG

Interested Members are encouraged to send an e-mail in an arbitrary form to l.todorov@aptld.org indicating your intention to join SPRWG. In your email, kindly refer to your affiliation with a particular APTLD Member.

The Deadline

Please note that the inaugural teleconference of SPRWG will take place on Tuesday 30 May 2023 at 03:00 am UTC and volunteers are encouraged to join before this date. However, SPRWG will remain open to new members throughout its work so volunteers will be able to join at any time.

Next Steps

At its inaugural call after the deadline ARMWG Members are expected to adopt the WG Charter and elect Chair and launch the working process.
