On 9 October 2020, the APTLD Board held a regular teleconference meeting and considered a range of matters. A summary of the Meeting is published in this Communiqué.
Expression of Condolences on an Early Passing Away of Nicolau Santos Celestino
The Board expressed deep condolences to the family and colleagues of the late Nicolau Santos Celestino, CEO of the .TL registry and resolved that Condolence Motion, and resolved to forward a letter of condolence to both his family and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Timor Leste.
Preparations for APTLD79
The Board received the GM’s update on the matter and noted some progress in registrations and volunteering for contribution to some sessions. The Board suggested GM and Secretariat make an effort to encourage the APTLD Membership to sign in for the Meeting.
Preparations for APTLD80
The Board received the GM’s update on the matter and noted with satisfaction a constructive collaboration with .FJ and PICISOC, which has ensured a positive momentum in preparations for the Meeting.
Consideration of the Draft MoU with dotAsia
The Board considered a draft Memorandum of Understanding between APTLD and dotAsia and resolved that the matter is in need for further examination for both organizations’ benefit, and that at this point in time it was premature to be executing an MOU, until further discussions were had with dotAsia. The Board also suggested GM continue the dialogue with dotAsia’s leadership on the matter.
State and Execution of the 2020 APTLD Budget
The Board received a GM’s update on the matter and noted with much satisfaction that it is in line with the original projections. The Board also took a notice of the start of the 2021 membership fee collection campaign.
The Board also considered a number of other administrative matters.
