APTLD Board Meeting Communiqué (20 November 2020)

On 20 November 2020, the APTLD Board held a regular teleconference meeting and considered a range of matters. A summary of the Meeting is published in this Communiqué.

Preparations for APTLD79

The Board received a GM’s update on the matter and noted a notable progress in registrations and volunteering for contribution to some sessions. Meanwhile, the Board remains concerned about prospects for having an on-site event and suggested the Board Program Committee convene to discuss an online Meeting agenda.

Preparations for APTLD80

The Board received a GM’s update on the matter and noted certain new challenges in Fiji due to the global ban on travels and the state of the tourism and hospitality industry in the island. The Board welcomed a close collaboration with PICISOC and .FJ and thanked them for their proactive monitoring of developments in the island.

The Board also discussed a draft APTLD80 agenda and suggested the Program Committee consider transferring certain sessions from the APTLD79 agenda to the APTLD80 one in the event APTLD79 is held online.

Secretariat’s Update on Preparations for the 2021 Board Election

The Board considered and approved revised election documentation and suggested the Secretariat share it with the Ordinary Members in a timely manner.

State and Execution of the 2020 APTLD Budget

The Board received a GM’s update on the matter and noted a projected surplus for 2020 and suggested recommendations as to putting it to the best use for the community’s benefit in 2021, circumstances permitting.

The Draft 2021 Business Plan

The Board discussed GM’s Business Plan for 2021 and approved it as is.

The Draft 2021 Budget

The Board discussed the draft 2021 Budget and approved it as is while suggesting its periodical review due to the uncertainty engendered by the global pandemic.

A Member’s Name Change and Qualification in the APTLD Records

The Board considered the GoDaddy Registry’s update on the change of the Member’s name from Neustar to GoDaddy Registry, LLC and resolved that it has not entailed any change in the status and qualification of the Member and concluded that GoDaddy Registry is fully qualified for Associate Membership in APTLD without prejudice to its earlier established rights and obligations per APTLD’s Constitution.

The Board also considered a number of other administrative matters.
