Summary of the Board Meeting Minutes (20 Apr 2022)

On 20 April 2022, the APTLD Board held a regular teleconference meeting, which was attended by all the Board Members and considered a range of matters. A summary of the Meeting is published in this document.

GM’s Update on Progress in Preparations for APTLD82

The Board received the GM’s update on the matter and noted a steady progress in the matter.

The Board also ruled to conduct an APTLD82 Fellowship programs and allocate10 Fellowships, including: 3 – to the Middle East; 2 – to the post-Soviet area; 3 – to Asia and 2 – to the Pacific area, including 3 Fellows originally selected for APTLD 78 whose participation was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

GM’s Update on Progress in the APTLD Reincorporation

The Board received the GM’s update on the matter and noted a certain progress in the matter and suggested that the process should be expedited to meet the deadline set by the community. The Board also resolved to hold an Extraordinary Members Meeting at 2am UTC on 11 May 2022 to seek a community’s consent to granting APTLD an extension of the original reincorporation timeline.

Consideration of a Request for Replacement as an Associate Member by iThreat and an Application for Associate Membership by CleanDNS

The Board considered the application and update from iThreat, Inc and resolved that, whereas, CleanDNS is a subsidiary to iThreat and has engaged in DNS security operation and that iThreat expressed its interest in having CleanDNS substitute for iThreat as an Associate Member at APTLD; to cease the associate membership of iThreat and have CleanDNS accede APTLD as an Associate Member to replace iThreat.

GM’s Update on the 2022 Budget

The Board received the GM’s update on the matter and concluded that the budget is executed in line with the original projections.

Review of Competitive Proposals to Host APTLD84 and Selection of the APTLD 84 Host 

The Board reviewed applications for hosting APTLD84 in September 2023 submitted by KISA, NIXI, and VNNIC and selected KISA as the APTLD84 host and Seoul as its location.

The Board expressed its profound gratitude to VNNIC and NIXI for their commitment and suggested they consider hosting future Members Meetings in 2024.

APTLD Staff Business Continuity Update

The Board received the GM’s update and noted with satisfaction that the GM relocation process has been successfully completed. The Board renewed its thanks to RNIDS (.RS) and Uzinfocom (.UZ) for their support of the effort.

The Board also discussed other administrative and financial matters.
