Summary of the Board Meeting Minutes (17 October 2023)

On 17 October 2023, the APTLD Board held a regular meeting, which was attended by all Board Members. A summary of the meeting is published in this document.

GM’s Update on APTLD85

The Board noted with satisfaction both arrangements made by NIXI as the Meeting host  and the number of registrations to date and expressed the hope for Members’ proactive volunteering for Meeting sessions as presenters. The Board also agreed to release a Call for 5 (five) APTLD85 Fellowships, with a due account of the sub-regional diversity principle.

The Board received the GM’s update and expressed thanks to the Members that have paid their fees following a special notification to them.

Update on the 2023 Budget and Review of the Draft 2024 Budget

The Board took notice of the GM’s update on budget execution and the projected FY2023 end-year balance and noted that the draft 2024 Budget is poised to post a moderate surplus.

Review of the Progress in Implementation of the “Internet for All” Statement

The Board received an update of the Working Group Chair and unanimously adopted the Statement.

Review of the Draft 2024 Board Election Schedule

The Board reviewed and approved the upcoming Board Election Schedule, unanimously approved it and suggested the Secretariat and Accounts follow up on its implementation.

Review of the Proposal to Launch the Drafting of an Updated APTLD Constitution and By-laws

The Board reviewed the proposal and suggested GM contact the legal counsellor in Malaysia to complete the work and table the documents for the Members Annual General Meeting in February 2024.

The Board also considered other administrative and financial matters.
