On 17 July 2024, the APTLD Board held a regular meeting, which was attended by all Directors and considered a range of matters. A summary of the Meeting is published in this document.

GM’s Update on Progress in Preparations for APTLD86

The Board took notice of the update.

GM’s Update on the 2024 Budget

The Board received a regular monthly update on the state of the 2024 budget and took notice thereof.

The Board also suggested GM notify Ordinary Members in arrears of suspension of services effective from 17 July.

GM’s Status Update on the Implementation of the GM Selection Plan

The Board made notice of the continuous process and the number of EoIs received to date and agreed to intensify the outreach effort.

Review of the Application for Associate Membership by Conovence Domains

The Board reviewed the Application and resolved to admit Conovence Domains, a US-based domain names Registrar, effective as of the membership fee payment date.

Review of the PAC ISOC/PACIGF Organizing Committee Request for Sponsorship of the 2024 DNS Forum

The Board reviewed the request and resolved to earmark the originally budgeted USD1,500 in sponsorship for the Forum.

Review of the Legal Counselor’s Memo on the Need to Repeatedly Hold an EGM to Adopt a New Constitution

The Board expressed concerns over an unexpected delay of the process caused by recent changes in local regulations in Malaysia and concluded to hold the EGM  in the last decade of August, pending the legal counsel’s input’s, and suggested the Secretariat issue an EGM Notice in the manner and within the timeframe established by the current Constitution.

Review of the TWNIC’s Communication to the Board

The Board reviewed the communication regarding the legitimacy of Directorship of Ms. Ai-chin’s Lu resulting from her transition from .TWNIC (.TW) to IUSN (.NU) and by majority of votes upheld its earlier made decision on the legitimacy of the move.

The Board also discussed a number of other administrative and financial matters.
