Summary of the Board Meeting Minutes (21 May 2025)

On 21^st May 2025, the APTLD Board held its regular online meeting, which was attended by all the Directors and considered a range of matters. A summary of the Meeting is published in this document.

Update on the request of MYNIC (.MY)

The General Manager (GM) provided an update regarding MYNIC’s request The Board reviewed and deliberated on the request based on the written justification submitted, in accordance with APTLD Constitution. GM is advised to further communicate and clarify the request.

GM’s Update on Preparations for APTLD88 

The Board recognized the General Manager’s update and conveyed their gratitude for the host’s generosity in organizing the APTLD88 arrangements. Additionally, they expressed appreciation for the dedicated sponsors, including RNIDS as the Headline sponsor, Com Laud as the Silver sponsor, and SOX as the Bronze sponsor.

GM’s Update on APTLD88 agenda

The board recommends ensuring that the content is both substantial and meaningful, while also encouraging board members to volunteer for moderating or speaking roles and motivating APTLD working groups to showcase their work in a specific session.

GM’s Update on Visit planning to Jordan for APTLD89  

The Board maintains a cautiously optimistic outlook regarding the Amman location. The Board advised GM to finalize date arrangements in February to confirm with Host, all while continuing to monitor safety measures.

APTLD88 Fellowship Status

The Board has approved the selected four fellowship candidates and a revised budget that exceeds the initial estimate, suggesting future considerations for budget variations based on different locations.

Reviewing of Two New Associate Member Applications

The Board has reviewed and approved two new applications for new associate membership: Com Laude and Sokomi GmbH, effective as the membership fee payment date.

Com Laude, a UK-based, a domain name management company that provides strategic consulting to help companies strengthen digital brand, safeguard customers and protect brand IP.

Sokomi GmbH, a Germany-based, a digital asset management firm specializing in secure domain name management, DNS engineering, brand protection, and compliance advisory.

Leonid’s consultation contract is set to conclude at the end of May 2025.

The Board valued the temporary advisory role he undertook. They are in favor of finalizing the contract as suggested, while advise GM to ensure continue communication with Leonid to address the outstanding administrative details.

The Board recognized difficulties in accessing the APTLD Facebook page, mainly due to the transition from the outgoing General Manager.

Renewal of the MOU with RIPE NCC

The Board showed its support for the renewal of the MOU during APTLD88, emphasizing the importance of fostering meaningful collaboration. They recommended that GM continue discussions with RIPE NCC and provide an update on the draft prior to signing.

MOU with SOKOMI GmbH

The Board has been invited to review the draft of the Sokomi Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The general advice from the Board is to ensure that the cooperation outlined is advantageous and separate the MOU discussion from membership applications.
