Update on the Request of MYNIC (.MY)
The General Manager (GM) briefed the Board on the status of discussions with MYNIC. The Board reviewed the update, raised no further questions, and provided guidance to the GM based on the majority consensus.
GM’s Update on Preparations for APTLD88
GM has shared an update regarding the preparation status of aptld88, and the board recognizes that the preparations are progressing well. Due to the low registration numbers, the Board suggested that the GM increase promotional activities.
GM’s Update on planning to Jordan for APTLD89
GM has finalized discussions with the Host and scheduled an event for the first week of February to avoid conflicts with other regional events. GM will continue to monitor the situation in the Middle East and GM is also tasked with gathering more information to update the Board.
RIPE NCC MOU and Sokomi.com MOU
The Board acknowledged and appreciated the update regarding the two MOU drafts. The General Manager has been asked to continue an additional review of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Reviewing of New Associate Member Application
The Board has approved a new associate membership for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), effective as the membership fee payment date. CIRA manages over 3 million domains, including .CA and .HELLO, and aligns with APTLD’s objectives in DNS security, resilient infrastructure, and global leadership in ccNSO, ICANN, and IGF.
GM’s Update on the current 2025 Budget
The Board recognized the current status of the 2025 Budget and had no further remarks, aside from the consideration of three board travel fund support allocations for APTLD88.
Evaluation of Three Board Members’ Request for Travel Funding Support for APTLD88
The Board requested that GM reevaluate the estimated total budget requirements, especially concerning air tickets, given the recent changes in flight status in specific regions.
