APTLD72 Fellowships
< back to listTo bolster the Asia Pacific ccTLD community’s technical capacity, APTLD in cooperation with the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) initiative co-sponsored by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and ICANN, offers a Fellowship to APIGA 2017 to be held in Seoul, Korea, 7-11 August 2017.
The Fellow to APIGA 2017 will attend sessions where he/she will be able to improve the understanding of Internet governance issues, and the multistakeholder processes that are largely responsible for driving these issues. Topics include History of Internet Governance; Fundamentals of Internet Infrastructure; and Multistakeholder Policy Making.
Through this initiative, participants will be able to form regional networks and contribute to the work of local, regional and global organizations involved in Internet governance work, including Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD), the Korea Internet Governance Alliance (KIGA), Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC), Internet Society (ISOC) and ICANN. The participants will also be able to better understand the importance of participating in platforms such as the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) and UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
Expectations
In return for the acceptance of a fellowship, APTLD expects the following from its
recipients:
- Participation in the training session prior to APTLD72 on 12 -13 September 2017 (details will be made available soon)
- Delivery of a presentation as a part of the APTLD Meeting agenda (to be developed soon)
- Post-meeting, submission of a written testimony (electronic version), including a special section detailing the relevance of the Meeting and major takeaways from it for the Fellow.
