APTLD Fellowship to the 3rd Sub-Regional Capacity Building Meeting

APTLD (Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association) is a membership-based,
non-for-profit organization that serves ccTLD (country-code Top Level Domain)
registries in Asia Pacific region.
APTLD operates as the forum of information exchange regarding technological
and operational issues of domain name registries in Asia Pacific region. As an
interface to other international Internet coordinating bodies, APTLD fosters
and elevates participation of AP ccTLDs in these global fora, as well as acts
in the best interest of APTLD members in global Internet policy making process.
NetHui is an open, bottom-up, collaborative, multistakholder public form
on Internet-related matters sponsored and hosted by .NZ. Held in Auckland, New
Zealand, on 9-10 November 2017, the Forum is also preceded by the NZ Internet
Research Forum on 8 November 2017.
To bolster the capacity of the ccTLD community in the Southern Asia
Pacific’s area, APTLD in cooperation with .NZ offers up to 3 Fellowships to
APTLD Members per the APTLD Fellowship Policy for Sub-Regional Capacity
Building Workshops.
Selection Criteria for the APTLD Fellowship to the 2nd Sub-Regional
Capacity Building Meeting
a) Fellowship is awarded to APTLD members that represent ccTLD
registries in the Southern Asia-Pacific area only.
b) To qualify for the Fellowship,
applicants must submit:
– A short
bionote (no more than 300 words);
– A
recommendation from the employer;
– A
rationale for his/her participation in the Meeting (up to 300 words),
including:
a. Interest and involvement in a ccTLD’s
operation
b. Professional achievements and successes
c. A topic for presentation (where
applicable)
d. Expected outcomes and how the Fellowship
will help him/her develop professional skills and promote professional growth
– A
successful fellow must submit, upon the conclusion of the meeting, his/her written testimonial (up to 300 words)
on the feedback and areas of learning and is so doing, the fellow grants
his/her consent to such a testimonial being made publicly available by APTLD on
the APTLD website.
How to apply and the application process timelines
Please complete the papers required and submit them to GM at: l.todorov@aptld.org by July 31 2017.
The Call closes at 24:00 UTC on
31 July, 2017.
GM reviews the applications and submits them to the APTLD Board and an
.NZ representatives for review, with the successful candidates to be announced
on the first week of August 2017.
Allowances
APTLD Fellowship covers only airfare, which is booked and prepaid by
APTLD. All airfare is economy class return and should not be in excess of a
lowest refundable fare available on an on-line booking site.
The Fellow must apply
for visas if necessary well in advance of the
Meeting. Claims for visa application should be supported by documentary
proof. Accommodation and meals in New Zealand will be sponsored by .NZ.
Neither APTLD, nor .NZ offer any monetary allowances, whether per diem
or otherwise.
Fellows are also responsible for obtaining and covering the cost of any
and all insurance, including but not limited to travel insurance. Neither
APTLD, nor .NZ refund insurance costs.
Claim processing against such insurance (including any costs involved)
is the Fellow’s responsibility.
Neither APTLD, nor .NZ refund any costs the selected Fellow has incurred
in preparing for the presentation material for participation in the Program.
